Ronnie began his musical journey at the age of four in his hometown of Los Angeles, where the sounds of Tito Puente, Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, The Beatles, his godfather Bobby Montez and his father Mike Gutierrez began to shape his musical sensibilities.

Ronnie attended Dick Grove School of Music in Studio City, California. His private teachers included Dick Wilson, Alan Dawson, John Perrett, and Jeff Hamilton. Ronnie’s credits include concert and album performances with Grammy Award winning artists Al Jarreau, Andrea Bocelli, Jeffrey Osborne, David Sanborn, Marcus Miller, Brenda Russell, Mariah Carey, Gladys Knight, Macy Gray, Natalie Cole, Babyface, George Duke. In addition, he worked with pop group All for One, composer Clare Fischer, Michael McDonald, Bobby Caldwell, Michael Bolton and Dave Koz. Ronnie has also performed with the California Philharmonic, Germany’s V.D.R. Orchestra, and Holland’s Metropole Orchestra. Ronnie’s own group has performed privately for Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Former Disney CEO Michael Ovitz, Rod Stewart, Sheri Belafonte and many more notable personalities. He also played for The Oscars and The Emmys.

Extensive training and experience combined with raw natural talent keep Ronnie in constant demand for recording sessions and live performances. His first album entitled, “LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON,” which features his father Mike Gutierrez, explores Latin styles ranging from Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Latin Jazz, and Old School Salsa. When Ronnie performs live with his father, his sister, vocalist Leslie Paula, and their salsa band, it is a vibrant and exciting family affair.
